I love that there is no bar on the bottom to trip over. How nice to not have to worry about tripping while holding a newborn. Love how easy this is to use and install. Sturdy as well. Functions as it should.

It’s a little too tall for what I need as I’m trying to keep the puppy from the litter box but not keep my cat from the litter box. Also the hinge doesn’t allow to open a full 90 degrees.

I bought this about 2 years ago and use it outside as a dog gate. I live three blocks to the ocean and this gate still has a good finish w/ very little rust; I’m honestly shocked. And the latch system it uses for double swing opening is great. It always closes easily and opens easily, yet has a tight fit. Highly recommend

After a week of use I have some more info: the spring of the latch has popped out 3 times. It’s easy to fix BUT every other day is a bit of a pita…. NOT a deal breaker as I think I can glue a little bit of plastic in there to hold the spring in place.A good thing I worked out is with some adjustments to the hinge and catch screws I made enough space on the hinge side for my 2 cats to walk through. One of them is elderly and can’t jump over the gate so this is a nice thing.—————I’m using it to create a space for my dogs while I’m gone. This is replacing an old gate the was pressure fit in between the walls of the hallway and regularly had to be put back in place. I like that this gate attaches to the wall, it’s easy to open and close with just a little lift and release of the catch. I’m going to add a magnet to my wall to securely hold it open/out of the way when not needed. I love that when open I have nearly the entire hallway width for passthrough, the old gate only had a section in the middle that opened up.

Full discloser i returned this product because it didn’t fit my stairs. Giving 5 stars because i wish it would have been just a little bit wider. Well worth the quality for the price. I tried to find a place in my house to use it before i returned it to no avail. Great product, i would buy again.

There are quite a few parts, but it all is obvious enough. The trickiest thing is getting vertical rods in position so the top and bottom clamps can fit in. It’s also important to be sure the gate when assembled as one gate rather than two has the “wall ends” on the outside so it can swing on one end and latch at the other. IT took about an hour (once we had it assembled and the two sides clamped together to get it all set up correctly so it swings and latches. Be sure to soap those long screws so it’s easy enough to get them in all the way.

I was looking for a modern gate to block the basement from my two small dogs.I have a split staircase (the basement steps and the second floor steps share a wall). Therefore, I didn’t think it would be feasible to install this type of gate on both sides.When the gate arrived I was surprised to realize it could still serve as a dual gate. By placing the hinges on the front side of the middle wall, it can swing between both stairwells (the upstairs obviously doesn’t have a lock but it’s still enough to deter the dogs)!Very happy with this purchase !

I mounted this gate at the bottom of our stairs similar to the picture, but one side is just a wall. . . we happened to have a stud line up with the opposite post on the staircase so I was able to hit the stud on one side and the staircase post on the other. The directions were great, the stencil included to drill the holes was spot-on and made installation super easy. I had this thing up and fully installed within 30 minutes or less of opening the box. Only a drill, the correct size bit, and screw driver/drill attachment needed for the job. You don’t have to drill, but I chose to for security and strength reasons and it has held up to 120lb teens jumping over it and pushing and pulling on it. The 18month old pulls on it and hangs from it, and it holds strong with no issues. . . I do have to check the gate alignment once in a while due to house settling and temperature changes, but those adjustments are easy to make by hand as needed. I definitely recommend.
